Street Scenes: Open View

Well, almost open.  What otherwise would have been a great view onto the hills surrounding Dingle was spoiled by the decision to put a cell tower right in the middle of it.   Getting past that, this view does remind you that you are in a very small town in the countryside.  Open views are great tools for connecting people to surrounding landscape.  But they cannot be used incautiously:  simply leaving a view open is not the same as consciously framing one for a purpose.

Notice the sidewalks are too narrow.  Notice too the supermarket is two stories – it could have been rebuilt on the outskirts of town as a single story sprawl mart but it holds on here in the town.
